Equitable Trauma Informed Care Training Platform

Creating Greater Equity in
Education for the Black Child from a Trauma-Informed Lens

As a support to Black families who are determined to raise healthy Black children four modules have been created to help
develop strategies to support Black children from their lived experiences. Participants will
engage in four interactive sessions that will focus on supporting students from a trauma-
informed lens.

  • Addressing the social, emotional, and mental health concerns facing black youth.
  • Identifying strategies for achieving positive outcomes for Black children.
  • Implement a strength-based, culturally relevant, evidenced-based and trauma-
    informed curriculum which privileges the unique needs and strengths of Black children.

Introductory Session and the Worldview of the Black Child.

What is Bias and how Does it Affect the Black Child?

The Effect of Trauma on the Black Child.

Special Circumstances that Black Children and Adolescents may Face  and
Closure of the Training.
