Black Child Development Institute (BCDI) – Cleveland Mourns the Passing of Mrs. Teri L Bowman, Founding Member, Board Treasurer, & Early Childhood Advocate

It is with a very heavy heart that Black Child Development Institute- Cleveland shares the sad news of the loss of Teri L. Bowman, Founding Member, Board Treasurer, and Early Childhood advocate who suddenly departed September 14, 2022.

Teri’s commitment to fulfilling positive outcomes for Black and Brown children resonated through her dedication, volunteerism, and willingness to serve as a BCDI Executive Board member. She was an amazing individual who worked to help forward the agenda of BCDI Cleveland. Teri served as the Board Treasurer and Membership Co- Chairman while working tirelessly behind the scenes to help coordinate all community outreach programs sponsored by Black Child Development  Institute- Cleveland.

Teri’s great smile and devotion to early childhood education and the growth and development of the Black family was well known to all who knew her. We are honored by her incredible legacy as  a change agent in this community.

Her focus on detail, professionalism, and  sense of humor will be missed but never forgotten. She exemplified all that we hold dear as a community, and her impact on this organization  will  be felt by all for decades to come. BCDI Cleveland’s Board members past and present will miss her.

Ms. Teri L. Bowman’s Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 9:00am at Gaines Funeral Home, 5386 Lee Road Maple Heights, Oh. 44137.

Sincerely,
